The AC-119 Gunship Association Reunion VII at Albuquerque, NM Sept 29 - Oct 1, 2006 was historically significant for the Vietnam era 71st SOS and the new 71st SOS. Reunion VII was an outstanding event thanks to the huge efforts by Reunion coordinator Steve MacIsaac with assistance from Wayne Laessig and a cast of many more for making it happen. The weather was perfect and the camraderie among fellow gunshippers was as strong as ever.
Below is the program/agenda from the reunion banquet held Saturday, September 30. Notice on the inside left hand page the autographed note by the Commander of the new 71st SOS, Lt. Col. James Cardoso; "Honored to be continuing the 71st!"
To commemorate the history/lineage of the 71st squadron, a very special guest attended the reunion. Lt. Marvin Litke was a guest of honor. Marvin was assigned to the 71st Troop Carrier Squadron, 434th Troop Carrier Group during WW II. Marvin flew many missions as a C-47 pilot, including the major operations of D-Day, Holland, and Bastogne.
