The President of the Provincial Government of the Republic of France decides

The 434th Troop Carrier Group is authorized to wear the shoulder lanyard decorated in the colors of the Croix de Guerre.

 

NOTE: The French Fourragere was awarded by the French government to numerous units of the United States Armed Forces during both world wars when those units had been cited twice for the Croix de Guerre or the Medaille Militaire. Individuals may be authorized the fourragere for being a member of a unit when it received both citations for the Croix de Guerre or Medaille Militaire unless he has received an individual citation of the award itself.

Personnel assigned or permanently attached to and present for duty with a unit in the actions for which cited are eligible to wear the decreed fourragere permanently. Personnel later assigned or permanently attached to a unit which has been cited, but who were not present for duty with the unit in the actions, may wear a fourragere only for the period of such assignment or attachment.
